Chiang Mai’s food Samaritans

 |  April 10, 2020

We are all hurting. But like all crises, some people rise to the occasion. Citylife thought that it would be an important thing to highlight some of the restaurants and businesses in town who must be feeling the pinch as severely as the rest of us, but who are still going out of their way to give to those even less fortunate than themselves.

Since the social distancing decree has led to a societal near-shut down, restaurants have had to either adjust to survive, or close shop. Yet there are others who do something extraordinary – they keep doing what they do, but for free.

Dozens of restaurants and businesses around Chiang Mai are spreading the love by offering free meals to help people who are financially struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic. People can line up and pick lunchbox up at sharing spots. That way, the community can stay safe and healthy.

We’ve gathered a list of restaurants and businesses around town currently offering free meals during the COVID-19 outbreak. We’ll update this list regularly. If you know of any to be added to our list, please simply email wichuda@chiangmaicitylife.com.
