This column is to keep you abreast of the latest websites which Citylife has produced, introducing you to the ever-increasing presence of Chiang Mai online.

Chiang-Dao Chiang Mai Elephant Training Center, founded in 1969, was one of the first elephant camps in Chiang Mai. This month, with the help of Citylife, they have launched their first website. Unlike touristy places surrounding Chiang Mai this training center focuses on keeping their 32 elephants in their natural habitat and concentrates on the elephants’ wellbeing. Featuring eco tourism as well as home stay programmes Chiang-Dao Chiang Mai Elephant Training Center showcases traditional ways of life of Thailand’s elephants and their mahouts throughout history.

The Real Mahout Programme and Basic Training Programme have detailed descriptions, schedules and the specific aims of each course on this dynamic website which in addition has a Q & A for any extra information you might need. If you don’t have time for their courses you can watch an elephant training session; there are two for viewing every day, 9 a.m. and 10 a.m., where you can witness elephants bathing and showing off their skills.

This website is easy to navigate and showcases a full gallery of their elephants and the breathtaking landscape you will find at Chiang-Dao Chiang Mai Elephant Training Center allowing you obtain a personal feel of what to expect without leaving your desk.
